have been studying and training in the Martial Arts for a combined total of 99 years. Their teaching experience started as early as 1975

Maywood Karate has been family owned and operated

in Maywood, NJ since 1988. Dave and Mike currently hold 7th degree black belts and Mason holds a 5th degree black belt.

Shorin-Ryu Shidokan Karate-Do is currently headed by Katsuya Miyahira Hanshi, 10th Dan and senior student of Chosin Chibana Sensei. Katsuya Miyahira Hanshi is also the head of the International Shorin-Ryu Association.

Shorin-Ryu Shidokan Karate-Do was introduced to the United States by Miyahira Sensei's senior student, Seikichi Iha Sensei. Iha Sensei is the head of Beikoku Shidokan, the North American Shidokan Association.

Iha Sensei was promoted to Hanshi 10th Dan in July 2001 by his Sensei, Katsuya Miyahira (10th Dan).
